- Eddy is all about working with all the stakeholders
that have here within the Buffalo City
and working with the private sector
is amongst one of the things that we value
as the municipality because it teaches us
to value SMMPs and as well as to take the business serious.
For an example, if you're looking at training
and finding opportunities, what is it that you want to see?
When you speak about policy regulations and compliance,
what issues do you have that speaks to that?
What is it that the government could do
to make sure that the policies and regulations
that we develop as government entities
speak to the needs of your businesses?
Are we having policies that I use a friendly
to business people or to these measures that you add into?
And then coming to collaborations and partnerships,
a lot has been said.
So what do you want to see?
How best can we call up or anything?
- What have we become?
What lessons have we learned after 30 years?
We end a title, a title and we enjoy it.
It's called previous reconciliation.
Previous reconciliation.
Maybe it's not bad or maybe it's the truth.
But for us to be presently disadvantaged
has something to do with our choices and our decisions.
It's a point of decision.
And us, as government, have a responsibility
to create platforms such as these.
Where we sit back reflects on us
and what our contribution is going to be
in shaping the future of the city.

Whatever ITA is now, we need to start some way.
And then you grow from it.
- Greetings, point of viewers out there in the whole world.

I started the business in 2017, which was eight years ago.
I'm now here.
I do pizzas.
I do private functions, but most of all,
I manufacture my own base and supply to local restaurants
and hotels.
My aim for this business is not just to grow it,
but to sustain and to make sure that we reach pizza
into areas that we've not even reached before.
Your townships, your rural areas, your villages,
your student accommodations.
So that's what I'm about.
I'm passionate about pizza.
I'm passionate about people and I'm passionate about service.
So I suppose a pizza is a global brand built in South Africa
for all races, but mostly it should touch the lives
of the disadvantaged and the previous disadvantage.
So as per the pizza is found in Vincent, Vincent Rhodes,
it's London, but most of all, we do private functions
so you can come to your house or you can come to your office
and your function and do a pizza day life.
- I'm Chef Sipo, first day in East London
and I'm the curator of the (speaking in foreign language)
So at the moment today, rather, we are at the SMME
Summit and Fair Organized by the BCM,
which is a very great initiative by our local municipality
to ensure that as SMMEs, we have the exposure
and we've got the right information regarding us
of exactly how to do about the business
so that we are well equipped
so that we can be able to trade globally.
Currently, I've been one of the beneficiaries
of the BCM via the LED office,
which is local business development.
They've helped me to actually be compliant, rather,
to the SAPs regarding the (speaking in foreign language)
meaning that I'm now able to access bigger markets
through the assistance, which is quite good
and I hope most of the SMMEs around here,
they can actually take the advantage and make use of it.
